Leap Dance Festival is Liverpool City Region's leading dance event, showcasing the work of local artists, community groups and young people.

Since relaunching in 2024 we have brought dance to theatres, venues and public spaces across Liverpool.

To date we have...

• Commissioned 35 new dance works including 5 films. 

• 1,438 people have taken part in performances across Leap Dance Festival in 2024 and 2025. 

• We have supported the work of 7 emerging artists at an early stage in their careers. 

• Leap 2025 attracted audiences of 72,928 through live and digital engagement.

• Promote the positive health and wellbeing benefits of taking part in regular dance activity 

• Provide opportunities for young people, communities and artists in the region

• Remove barriers that impede access to the arts and culture

• Co-commission new work from artists based in our city region
